Coach/Instructor Helmet Requirement
[Effective 09/01/2006]

“All ice hockey coaches and instructors of registered USA Hockey youth, high school, disabled, girls/women’s 19 & under and below programs MUST wear an approved ice hockey helmet during all on-ice session, including practices, controlled scrimmages and coach and referee clinics (seminars).”

It is the duty of the Local Program to comply and enforce this USA Hockey requirement. Local Programs will be held accountable for enforcement. The Local Programs may adopt more severe penalties.

PENALTY [for non-compliance]:

Coach/Instructor:
1. First Offense: Warning
2. Second Offense: One (1) game suspension
3. Third & additional Offense: Automatic immediate suspension pending a disciplinary hearing by the Affiliate.

Local Program [for improper oversight]:
1. First Offense: Warning
2. Second & additional Offense: Local Program will be considered not in good standing with the Affiliate {therefore not in good standing with USA Hockey} pending a disciplinary hearing by the Affiliate

NOTE: Disciplinary Hearing must be held within thirty (30) days of notification of the violation
